William Oman Sr.
IRON MOUNTAIN — William R. Oman Sr., 79, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Dickinson County Healthcare System.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1938, in Milwaukee, son of the late Stanley and Irene (Kornowski) Oman.
Bill graduated from St. Thomas Moore High School in Milwaukee. He was president of Norway Gravure, prior to co-founding American Graphics Printing Co. in Iron Mountain and Goodman, Wis.
He enjoyed gardening, reading and painting.
Bill is survived by five children, William (Peggy) Oman Jr. of Iron Mountain, Mark (Tina) Oman of Random Lake, Wis., Michelle (Rob) Allard of Henderson, Nev., Danielle Schmidt of Gilbert, Ariz., and Kurt (Shannon) Oman of Iron Mountain; three sisters, Patricia Mahas of West Bend, Wis., Lois (Gene) Bielefeldt of Buffalo City, Wis., and MaryEllen (Tom) Beck of Neenah, Wis.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Michael Oman; one grandson, Lucas Grysiak; a great-grandson, Kayne Emmrich; and his longtime partner, Germaine Pedo.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow Monday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Brown will officiate.
Burial will be in the Norway Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Safe Haven Adult Foster Care Home.
