Sharon Juopperi-Dasko

IRON MOUNTAIN — Sharon Marie Juopperi-Dasko, 59, of Iron Mountain, entered God’s loving arms on July 15, 2017, after a long illness.

She was born in Ontonagon on April 11, 1958, first born daughter to Roger and Laurie Lou (Beck) Juopperi. A graduate of Ewen-Trout Creek High School and Gogebic Community College, she moved from her hometown of Bruce Crossing to Iron Mountain and started her career in medical transcription at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where she remained for more than 30 years. From the hospital, she moved to a small private surgical practice where she remained until her retirement in December 2016.

Sharon met and married her true love and best friend Richard Dasko on Sept. 5, 2010, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Painesville. They made their home in Iron Mountain and together enjoyed countless summers camping and fishing at Way Dam Resort.

She always had a special place in her heart for animals and spent her entire life caring for and loving her horses, cows, dogs and cats. Her most recent fur-babies “Tori” and “Buddy” provided endless hours of enjoyment to both Sharon and Rick. She was a loyal Detroit Lions fan, loved Nascar racing, was an avid reader and looked forward to planting her favorite flowers, geraniums, every spring.

Sharon loved her family deeply and adored her nieces and nephews, who in turn adored their “Auntie Sharon.”

Preceding her in death: her father, Roger Juopperi; paternal grandparents, Hubert Juopperi and Helen Juopperi of Bruce Crossing, and maternal grandparents, Arthur Beck and Irene Beck of Ontonagon.

She is survived by her mother, Laurie Lou Juopperi of Hurley Wis.; sisters, Cindy (Chris) Stanley of Harshaw, Wis., Theresa (Bruce) Buccanero of Upson, Wis., and Sandy (Rick) Pertile of Hurley; brothers-in-law, Larry Dasko of Iron Mountain, Michael (Jackie) Jung of Iron Mountain, and sister-in-law, Kathy (Jared) Lawrence of South Carolina.

She will be remembered, loved and missed by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will take place at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Friday, July 21. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern time, followed by the service at noon.

A private family burial service will be held at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing.

The Dasko and Juopperi families would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all family, friends and staff at Froedert Hospital for their love and support.

Cane Funeral Home of Bruce Crossing is serving the family.
