Danna R. Canavera-Mitchell
IRON MOUNTAIN — Danna R. Canavera-Mitchell, 76, of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford.
She was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Earl and Madelyn (Willikson) Alexander. Danna graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1959. She married Jeno Canavera. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Danna owned and operated Danna’s Beauty Salon in Iron Mountain for more than 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed scrap-booking, traveling, NASCAR, and always treasured time she spent with her grandchildren.
Danna is survived by one son, Lt. Colonel Dallan Scherer of Missouri; one daughter, Jodi Martin of Iron Mountain; one step-son of Jim (Leila) Canavera, Quinnesec; one step-daughter, Nancy Webb of Iron Mountain; one brother, Jack (Claudia) Alexander of Arizona; one sister, Wanda (Gary) Brock of California; 12 grandchildren, Nick, Tad, Brittany, Anthony, Madelyn, Faith, Alicia, Jessica, Brian, Jeff, Paul and Steve; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband Jeno, Danna was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Anderson.
Private family graveside services will be announced in the spring.
