STAMBAUGH — Delvina Stolberg, 99, of Stambaugh, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Aspirus Hospital in Iron River. She was born on Oct. 16, 1918, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late George and Mary (Baker) O’Donnell. She grew up in Stambaugh and attended Stambaugh schools.
Delvina was a lifelong resident of Stambaugh. She married Lambert Stolberg on April 14, 1936, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2002. She and her husband owned and operated Stolberg’s Lawn Ornaments.
She was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. She enjoyed playing cards, the magic of Halloween and going to the casino. Christmas Eve was a tradition at the family home.
Delvina is survived by her sons, Jim (Dorothy) Stolberg of Bates Township and Dan (Carol and Deb) Stolberg of Stambaugh Township; her daughters, Sherry (Gary) Sarafiny of Caspian, Bonnie (Jim) Talerico of Spread Eagle, Wis., and Dawn (Ray) Margoni of Crystal Falls; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Delvina was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert; her parents, George and Mary O’Donnell; sister, Catherine Stolberg; brothers, Frances O’Donnell, Lester O’Donnell and Ellsworth O’Donnell; grandson, Gary Daniel Sarafiny; and great-great-granddaughter, Ciera Ghiggia.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The funeral mass will follow at noon at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian.
Fr. Raymond Valerio will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Stambaugh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stolberg, Daniel Talerico, Dustin Keliin, Eric Ghiggia, Christopher Bowser, Nick Ghiggia, Zane Sarafiny and Mack Hull.
