Dr. Craig Lindeman
CHANNING — Dr. Craig “Duck” Lindeman, O.D., 67, of Lansing, formerly of Channing, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.
He was born Nov. 26, 1949, to Leonard “Tony” and Patricia (Riley) Lindeman in Crystal Falls. He was an excellent baseball player and earned a scholarship to play for Eastern Michigan University.
Then he attended Northern Michigan University and later the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where he received his doctor of optometry degree. He took great pride in his own optometry practice, Vision 20/20, in Lansing before he retired in 2011.
Craig loved all outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and pontoon rides. He was an avid sports fan who followed the Detroit Tigers, Green Bay Packers and all Michigan State University teams. Craig had an outgoing personality and could make friends with anyone he met. He cherished his family and friends. Craig will be dearly missed by all who remember him.
Surviving are his children, Brent (Jennifer) Lindeman, Jeff (Michelle) Lindeman, and Liza Lindeman; former wife and mother of their children, Joni Lindeman; grandchild, Broderick “Brody” Lindeman; brothers, Todd (Lynne) Lindeman, Dean Lindeman, Brian (Barb) Lindeman; sister, Michelle (Mike) Ferguson; nieces and nephews, Chad (Andrea) Lindeman, Linsey (Jon) Sitka, Jared (Sara) Ferguson, Alex (Jessie) Lindeman, Brandon (Kara) Lindeman, Blake Lindeman, and several cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Cynthia Lindeman; an aunt, Charlotte Bloom; and uncles, Warren “Potchy” Lindeman, George Riley and John Riley.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate.
Burial will be in Sagola Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home with the local arrangements.
