Helen M. Mott
KINGSFORD — Helen M. Mott, 87, of Kingsford, went to be with her Savior on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Freeman’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born on July 1, 1930, in Borup, Minn., the daughter of the late Helmer and Minnie (Dahl) Eastvold.
Helen was a registered nurse. She worked as an obstetrics nurse at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and as the school nurse for Iron Mountain Public Schools.
She married Donald Mott on Aug. 16, 1952, in Minnesota. The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.
Helen was a member of the First Covenant Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. For more than 50 years she sang with the Singing Strings. She was a member of the Covenant Women, and enjoyed knitting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; seven children, Donald (Nancy) Mott of Aurora, Wis., Cynthia (Bruce) Strutz of Merriman, JoAnn (Gary) Boucher of Spring Hill, La., Diane (Gerald) Anderson of Ellsworth, Wis., Linda (Tom) Winer of Ada, Jon (Donna) Mott of Stevens Point, Wis., and Jeffrey (Sheila) Mott of Madison, S.D.; two sisters, Mildred Trochmann of Ulen, Minn., and Harriet (Bill) Lewis of Des Moines, Iowa; one son-in-law, Todd Anderson of Minnesota; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her cat Daisy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Debbie Anderson and three brothers John, Harold, and Clifford Eastvold.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at First Covenant Church. Funeral services will follow at noon at the church. Rev. Peter Erickson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
