James K. Peterson
KINGSFORD — James K. “Jim” Peterson, 69, of Kingsford, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.
Jim was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Lawrence and Gloria (Sundquist) Peterson. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1966 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Jim owned Peterson Machine, which he operated for nearly 50 years.
His passion was stock car racing and he was recently inducted into the Norway Racing Hall of Fame. Jim was a talented mechanic and enjoyed rebuilding tractors, working on his stock cars and woodworking.
He is survived by his sister, Tamara Brew, and a nephew, James Brew, both of Elmwood Park, Ill.; and many special friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Pete Peterson; and an aunt, Alice Peterson.
There will be a celebration of Jim’s life in the spring and it will be announced prior to that time.
