Nina N. Harden
IRON MOUNTAIN — Nina N. Harden, 95, of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain.
She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Crittenden County, Ky., daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Hardesty) Harden.
Nina grew up and graduated high school in Tolu, Ky. She went on to attend beautician school and worked as a beautician for a few years in Detroit, until taking a position at the GM Cadillac plant where she worked on the final assembly line for 25 years.
Nina and her husband moved to Iron Mountain where they owned and operated Lewis Standard Gas Station for a few years. She later moved to Evansville, Ind., where she worked for Ingram Barge as a cook on their tow boat for 25 years.
Nina enjoyed reading, good movies, and bird watching.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Lucas of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Jill Rochon of Iron Mountain, Janice (Tim) Ramer of Neillsville, Wis., Jerry (Sarah) Trumbley of Ishpeming, Tristen (Justin) Mosley of Booneville, Ind., and David Kazianka of Indiana; eight great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Don (Sue) Hardesty, Evansville.
In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Kazianka; and one sister, Marjorie Brown.
