NORWAY — Harold “Jim” Leitch, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

He was born July 27, 1946, in Cass City, Mich., the son of the late Jason and Dorothy (Dickinson) Leitch.

Jim graduated from Cass City High School in 1964, and served two tours for his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

After his service he returned to Sebewaing, Mich., where he worked on a farm, then moved to Florida doing house construction, came to Niagara, Wis., and worked at the Niagara Paper Mill, moved to Oconto, Wis., and worked for Nercon for several years, he retired and moved to Norway.

Jim enjoyed reading, fishing, playing pool, the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions.

He is survived by his sons, Eric Leitch of Abilene, Texas, and Brian Leitch of Marinette, Wis.; grandsons, Robert and Jacen Leitch; brother, Greg (Deb) Vargo of Waucedah; sisters, Joellyn (Jim) McGuire of Bridgeview, Ill., and Dawn Beckerson of Kingsford; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Irene White of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be at the Hillman Cemetery in Hillman, Mich., at a later date.
