Mary Lou Larsen
VULCAN — Mary Lou Larsen, 59, of Vulcan, died Monday, May 14, 2018, surrounded by her family at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1958, in Norway, the son of Edward and Kathleen (Zadra) Hinds.
Mary Lou graduated from Norway High School in 1976 and went on to graduate from Bay College with an associate degree as a LPN in 1979.
Mary Lou married Tony Larsen on March 9, 1983, in Iron Mountain.
She worked for Anderson Hospital in Norway, Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain and the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Iron River. She also spent some enjoyable years working for Dr. Barry Johnson in Iron Mountain.
Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing. She enjoying making costumes for her grandchildren for Halloween. She loved her family, her children, and especially her grandchildren. She also loved animals and taking care of them.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tony; her sons, Matt Larsen of Grand Rapids and Michael (Michelle) Larsen of Sparta, Wis.; grandchildren, Isaac, Elliot and Ellery; mother, Kathleen Hinds; brothers, David (Carol) Hinds of Iron Mountain and Russell (Lisa) Hinds of San Antonio; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and her German shepherd, Sasha.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward “Petesir” Hinds; and her sister, Joan Juilan.
Private family funeral services will be held.
