Together they loved and raised three children.

Early in Marilyn’s life she found her love of church and community. She sat on the district board for the United Methodist Women. She served on several church committees throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was a member of PEO, the Order of Eastern Star, Friends at the Museum, the Dickinson County Hospital League where she served as past president, GFWC, where she was past president and district president. She spent hours organizing caroling, birthday parties, Christmas parties, spring and fall events at local nursing homes and the VA hospital. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, hunting for antiques, playing bridge, but mostly she loved her family.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Mary and Steve Miller of Breitung Township and David and Lisa Hansley of Spread Eagle, Wis.; grandchildren, Stephanie and Marc Gunderson of St. Louis, Mo., William Hansley of Houghton, Casey Hansley, student at Michigan State University; and great-granddaughter, Margaret Gunderson who affectionately calls her GG.
