Norman R. Blomquist

FELCH — Norman R. Blomquist, 73, of Felch, passed away on Nov. 21, 2018, at his home.

Norman was born on Oct. 27, 1945, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Rudolph and Edith (Forstrom) Blomquist. Norman was a resident of this area his entire life and was a graduate of Felch High School. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and worked as a journeyman lineman for 50 years. He traveled extensively in his working career, including to Saudi Arabia and Puerto Rico. He has traveled nationally following storm damage to New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Colorado, Missouri and the Carolinas.

Norman belonged to Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching and taking care of his apple orchard.

Norman is survived by his son, Lee (Raeanne) Blomquist of Felch; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Carlson of Norway; brother, John (Pat) Blomquist of Iron Mountain; nephews, John Blomquist Jr. and Ken Blomquist of Iron Mountain; nieces, Sarah (Jared) Ferguson of Iron Mountain and Jennifer (Matt) Payette of Iron Mountain; grandchildren, Benjamin Hughes, Raymond, Sonny, Macee and Samantha Tolonen, Nate and Nick Pouliot; great-granddaughter, Izzabella Tolonen. Norman is also survived by his best friend, Linda Pacione of Felch.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan.

Memorial services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
