Noting the good work done by Girl Scouts, leaders

Bouquets & Barbs

Bouquet

From Jill Rady, Community Development Coordinator, Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Negaunee:

If you get your world view from the news of the day, you may be missing what is right and good in your own neighborhood. I have a smile just thinking about the amazing volunteer work done by Girl Scouts and their generous troop leaders!

Just a week ago, I saw girls who helped with the Lt. Eric A. Palmisano project, creating care packages for our deployed troops. Girl Scouts visit the elderly in nursing homes, donate food and treats to help animal welfare shelters, give to food banks, plant flowers, and put into practice the values of the Girl Scout Law.

Participation in Girl Scouting is an experience in leadership, as girls learn what it takes to make a difference in their community. With more volunteers we can offer this opportunity for more girls. I can’t thank these volunteers enough.

Working with them through the years continues to give me a positive outlook for the future. I just want to share with you my gratitude for each one: Margaret Henkelman, Jaime Selin, Candace Anderson, Sonia Donnelly, Jessica Reynolds, Kelly Westcott, Courtney Trewarthy, Nicole Wolsker, Harmony Wedin, Becky Johnson, Elissa Van Ooyen, Kasey Webber, Lisa Villringer, Jackie Koski, Jaime Paternoster, Janel Primeau, Joyce Fraker, Kelly Gaucher, Stephanie Wilson, Tina Martinson, Miranda Sabotta, Linda McClure, Jessi Hill, Kristy Marotz, Kelly Tarvonen, Anglea Applekamp, Katherine Fisher, Jade Davis, Kim Harris, Jill Lemke, Ashley Smith, Andrea Kaiser, Vicki and Kristin Underhill.

Pat our leaders on the back for me!
