Thanks from youth coalition in Marinette, Menominee counties

Bouquets & Barbs

The Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette and Menominee Counties recently was awarded $22,000 in proceeds from the fifth annual Hugh Bretl Drug Awareness Tournament to continue our prevention programming in the schools and community for our youth and their families. The event was held on May 20 and guest speakers included HYC staff and youth members, Marinette Police Officer Andy Bonjean and state Rep. John Nygren.

The coalition would like to thank all the anglers who entered the tournament, businesses who sponsored the event and to all who contributed prizes or donated to the cause. We are very thankful to Little Caesar’s for providing lunch to everyone in attendance.

Another thank you to Nestegg Marine for donating their space and for all their help running the tournament for the fifth year in a row.

HYC would also like to give special thanks to Mike and Dorothy Bretl and Jennifer Konyn for all their hard work running this large event, as well as their dedication and passion for keeping us keep our area kids drug-free. The Hugh Bretl Memorial Foundation also sponsored HYC in the Waterfront Parade and we appreciate their kindness and unconditional support of our organization throughout the years.
