Enjoyed the band’s halftime show at Kingsford game

Bouquets & Barbs

From Diane Schabo, Iron Mountain:

I would like to thank the Kingsford High School Band, Ben Sherk and all those who helped in some way make the last regular football game’s halftime show such an awesome event. Each year I look forward to their “light show and fireworks.” I have never been disappointed. This wonderful band puts heart and soul into their music.

We should all be proud of our young people. Breitung Township’s music department starts out at a young age — fifth grade, I believe. Mr. Sherk should be commended for not only introducing these students to music but in keeping them interested when their world seems to center around smart phones, Xboxes and social media.

Thank you, Kingsford High School Band, for a job well done!

Norway church thankful for turnout at corn maze

From the Rev. Darryl Ditmer, pastor of Living Hope Community Church, Norway:

Living Hope Community Bible Church in Norway would like to thank everyone who visited our corn maze and pumpkin patch. We would especially like to thank everyone who donated to Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Relief Fund. Because of your generosity, a check for $803.09 was sent to the ministry to help those who have suffered from the recent hurricanes. Thank you and God bless you.
