Bouquets & Barbs
From Agatha Cavaiani of Kingsford:
One late Friday night, before taking my former classmate — a 92-year-old World War II Navy veteran walking with two canes — to the bus stop, we turned into a fast-food establishment in Iron Mountain.
A group of college and high school students were in line waiting to order. One young man gave up his place, another young man wearing a North Dickinson sweatshirt carried our tray to the table.
Not to worry. The spirit of Christmas is upon us with this act of thoughtfulness for the elderly and disabled. Upon leaving, the door was held open for us, too.
