No one should be at risk for sake of US ‘image’

In a Letter to the Editor by Gilbert Engel, facts published by Cato Institute research stated:

“The number of terrorism-related murders carried out by foreign-born attackers on U.S. soil from 1975 to 2015, or 40 years, was 88. The chance of an American being killed by a refugee in a terrorist attack is 1 in 3.64 billion, or by an illegal immigrant is 1 in 10.9 billion. The chance of being killed by someone on a common tourist visa is the most common at 1 in 3.9 million.”

Therefore my question is, how many deaths are acceptable so America has the appearance of being an awesome nation.

Are 100 lives or 500 lives lost acceptable before we think about our appearance?

This is over an executive order that will allow extreme vetting of immigrants in an era of terrorism, which is a real threat, even if some desire to minimize the impact experienced or that may occur.

In my opinion, “0” lives are expendable to maintain appearance.
