Garden provides fresh produce

May 25, 2012 - Lisa Reed
This was the week my husband started planting our garden. Again, he is planting a big garden and quite a variety, which includes carrots, red, yellow and green onions, red and white potatoes, sweet corn, green beans, snap peas, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkins, and many varieties of squash. In the next couple of weeks, he will plant more corn. New this year will be our own asparagus, strawberries, garlic, eggplant, and okra. It is awesome to have fresh vegetables and fruit from our garden. I cannot wait for this year’s fresh produce to be ready. Anyone interested in growing a garden should do so because it far outweighs the taste of store-bought and costs much less.
