Work in progress

October 16, 2012 - Terri Castelaz
Well it’s close to the end of the school quarter and Tessa has managed not to get into too much trouble.

I know what everyone is thinking, she must have did something. Yes, there has been a few incidents, but nothing too bad. The first came on the day when she had her treat day, in which she got to be the “leader.” She was the leader alright. It was time for lunch and her teachers had the class lined up in the hallway to head down to the lunchroom. Well just as her teacher slipped back in the classroom for a quick second she started to lead them all down the hall — at a running pace. Her poor teacher had to run down the hall yelling to the kids to stop.

When she got home that day of course we got her story. She was naming off other kids in her class saying they were they ones that ran first, not her. She claimed she was just a follower. Her words were she had to go because otherwise she would have gotten lost in the school and then I would have cried. Oh and she was acting it out perfectly too so I wouldn’t discipline her. We didn’t find out the “real” story until after this of course, finding out that she was the “leader” in the ordeal.

I guess it is a work in progress. As one of my friends told me baby steps, you can’t expect her to change into an angel overnight. I can dream can’t I?
