Car repairs

October 18, 2012 - Lisa Reed
My 2008 Kia Spectra is in the repair shop. It is being fixed for two separate accidents I was in within the last seven months.

The first accident occurred last February when I tried to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of me head-on with my vehicle.

As I attempted to move from the right lane to the left lane to avoid the collision, my vehicle hit the left bumper of the vehicle in front of me.

That caused more than $1,000 damage to the front right side of my vehicle. I decided at the time not to fix it.

Late this summer, a deer also ran into the driver’s side of my vehicle, causing a dent.

Then just last month, I hit a stationary cement object in a parking lot. That really did some damage to the back left side of my vehicle. That too was more than $1,000 worth of damage.

In both incidents, I filed a police report and a claim with my insurance company. To get my vehicle fixed, I am paying my deductible for both incidents.

My vehicle should be out of the repair shop by the end of this week, and I can’t until I have my wheels back.

And, for the record, I plan not to be involved in any more collisions.
