Former Packer got his *** in gear

December 12, 2012 - Burt Angeli
Wide receiver Bill Schroeder, represented in contract negotiations by Iron Mountain’s John Perla during his playing days, made two stops with the Green Bay Packers.

Schroeder, according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story, was drafted by the Packers in 1994 and traded to New England in 1995. He re-signed with the Packers in 1996, and started from 1999 to 2001. Schroeder then landed a big contract with the Detroit Lions.

“I think he suddenly realized he needed to get his (expletive) in gear,” former Packer general manager Ron Wolf told Bob McGinn.

“He was OK after he got done bucking everything and just went with the flow and played to his ability. That didn’t work too badly.”
