I'm Hungry Just Thinking About Eating Healthy

January 30, 2013 - Theresa Proudfit
With my wedding less than 3 months away I was hoping to drop 20 pounds before the nuptials. I've been trying to exercise regularly and eat healthy but I find just thinking about dieting makes me hungry.

I'll go to the grocery store and purchase healthy foods and then go home and try a little of everything. I've learned that even if you're eating healthy you can't eat your weight in food and expect to lose weight.

There are so many different diets out there. Off the top of my head the South Beach Diet, the cabbage soup diet, The American Heart Association 3 day diet, the mediterranean diet, Atkin's, The Zone, the diabetes diet and the celebrity diet. I've tried them all. Then there are the "life style changing" programs like Weight Watchers and Beach Body. I've actually had some luck with these ones, when I stick to the program. But what I've found most often is whenever I think about dieting I want to eat.

Now that I've read about 10 different diet books I'm beginning to understand what foods are good for me and which I should stay away from.

A vitamin packed shake, a whole grain english muffin with peanut butter, a piece of fruit, a V8, a hand full of nuts, oatmeal, high fiber cereal and yogurt. All excellent choices for a healthy breakfast. Unless of course you eat them all. Lean Cuisines are great lunch choices, as long as you only eat one. Dinner of lean meat and veggies is perfect unless you double your portion size. I really do think about what I'm eating. I make excellent choices when I shop. Just last week I had a sweet tooth so instead of Ben and Jerry's ice cream I bought frozen yogurt. I really enjoyed laying in bed watching my workout video eating a tub of frozen yogurt. Raspberry Fudge Chunk Greek Yogurt, it was tasty. Red wine is great for your heart. I know I have a bottle around here somewhere.

All this diet talk is making my stomach growl. Is it almost time for lunch? What do I have in the fridge? Salad fixings, chicken breast, yogurt, a few Lean Cuisines in the freezer, an apple, an orange, whole grain chips and salsa. I love eating healthy.
