Izzo's adjustments stand out

February 23, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Former Michigan State star Mateen Cleaves, on Tommy Izzo’s tournament success: “His ability to make adjustments during the tournament. A lot of teams kind of can go watch the game, after they lose, and say, ‘Wow, we should have done this.’ I think his ability to make in-game adjustments on the fly helps him out so much.

“And his work ethic. He never sleeps. At tournament time, there are bags under his eyes, along with the rest of the coaching staff.”

Cleaves told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the Big Ten, best conference in the country, will send six and, possibly, seven teams to the NCAA tournament.
