Ballpark food for 'Ballgame'

May 10, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Looks like a road trip is in store for Jake (Ballgame) Deuter. Chicago’s Cellular Field, according to CalorieCount.com, offers the DaBurger Triple Play — a three-pound pork burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, pulled pork and barbecue sauce. Hope Jaker can handle 1,100 calories.

Or how about the Texas Rangers' Boomstick, a 2-foot, 1-pound all-beef hot dog served on a potato bun?

And if that doesn’t agree with the Jaker, may I suggest the Pittsburgh Pirates' new Brunch Burger. That’s a burger patty topped with maple bacon, a fried egg and cheddar cheese, on a toasted glazed doughnut.

While he’s out East, there’s a “Shake Shack High-Heat Cheese Dog” with an all-beef hot dog “slathered with a proprietary Cheese-Whiz-like sauce and a heap of pickled peppers that is totally worth the feelings of shame, regret and acute indigestion to follow,” according to New York magazine.
