Hord race crew works fast
June 24, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Felch truck racer Chad Hord overcame major obstacles for a runner-up finish last Friday at his home track.
Hord started the day at Bark River International Raceway where a broken oil pump belt led to engine problems during the morning practice session.
“The guys had to make a motor change about a half hour before the race started,” Hord said. “I only had two laps on the track all day, and I had to start in the back. We worked our way to the front.
“To be here at Bark River in front of my family and friends, and just be sitting here on the podium, just about winning, it’s awesome.”
Hord completed his weekend with a fourth and seventh in The Off-Road Championship (TORC) PRO 2WD Division. He stands third heading into the June 29-30 races at Crandon.
Iron River’s Nick Baumgartner is fourth in Pro Light.
