Record highs (and lows)

August 12, 2013 - Chris Tomassucci
The recession is over. Unless you are in the unfortunate position of having to work for a living. Then, the recession really just never ends. And by the way it started back in the 80’s. When Trickle-down economics was all the rage and Arthur Laffer was a top economic thinker in the Reagan Whitehouse.

These charts, put together by the New York Times are worth at least 1000 words.

As we can see, corporate profits just continue to rise. American companies are MORE PROFITABLE THAN EVER, right now. On the other hand, wages and income for the rest of us are at their lowest point as a percentage of GDP since 1929.(!)
