Man vs. Cheetah

August 20, 2013 - Terri Castelaz
National Geographic has announced that they will be airing a special titled “Man vs. Cheetah,” in November. Chicago Bears kick returner Devin Hester and Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson will race against a cheetah to kick off National Geographic’s fourth annual “Big Cat Week.”

After reading that I’m thinking holy cow they are going to be side-by-side running to the finish line. Won’t the cheetah just turn and eat them? Reading further I found out yes they will be challenging each other, but with a wall between them.

The special will include Johnson and Hester racing the cheetah in down-and-back competitions meant to measure how their speed and ability to change direction stack up against the fast feline. Both athletes have stated how excited they are to be part of this challenge and are eager to test themselves against the fastest in the world.

These days you never know what they will come up with for a reality show/special. Many are saying it’s just a ploy to get publicity. But isn’t every reality show?
