My betting 'curse'

September 30, 2013 - Terri Castelaz
Well I just had to spout off about the Bears being 3-0 and should be able to beat the Lions on Sunday. Spoke too soon. Even worse I made a bet with a Lions fan. “They are toast,” as a coworker said. Meaning I have very bad luck when it comes to betting. I have lost EVERY time. No kidding, even when everyone would agree that they were the favored team. Nope they lost. That is why I haven’t taken a bet in years. Well I learned my lesson for another 10 years at least. When many of my fellow Bear fans learned of the bad decision they sent me a note of thanks for jinxing the team. Could this really be possible? Was it the betting curse? The team that showed up in Detroit wasn’t the same as in the first three weeks of the season. Quarterback, Jay Cutler had one of the worse games of his career. He threw three interceptions and lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown in a game. And the offensive line struggled, along with the defense and everyone else. Total team loss in my book. Well it’s early in the season and anything is possible. I all know is there will be no more betting for me. Even if it is very tempting. Just say NO.
