Daylight Saving Time: friend or foe?

October 29, 2013 - Nikki Younk
Get ready to “fall back” an hour this weekend as Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends. It’s always nice to get that extra hour of sleep on late fall mornings, but is the whole DST concept really worth it?

I’m torn on the issue. It’s hard to tell which is worse — waking up when it’s still dark outside or leaving work when it’s already dark outside. With winter’s shorter daylight hours, you can only have one or the other.

Maybe I should just migrate with the seasons. Australia is looking pretty nice this time of year.

Changing clocks twice a year can also get bothersome. We already deal with enough time change confusion just by living along a time zone border. Always wondering if it’s “my time” or “your time”...do we really need to factor in another change?

Thoughts?
