Biblical action hero

March 26, 2014 - Marguerite Lanthier
Star Russell Crowe and the makers of the $130 million movie “Noah” recently traveled to the Vatican during the Pope’s general audience, to seek the highest possible endorsement for the movie — praise from Pope Francis himself. Unfortunately, the request for a private audience with the Pope was denied, but you have to give them credit for trying. The Pope was probably wise to not comment on the controversial movie. Several nations have banned the movie because it could offend Muslim viewers. No way to tell if it will be offensive until the movie is released on March 28. From the movie previews I’ve seen on television, they make Noah look like an action hero in the vein of Thor, something that would appeal to young males. There are a lot of special effects involving water, but they seem to downplay the Biblical theme, which has offended some conservatives. I guess we will never know if the Pope likes action hero ‘Noah’.
