Vacation day — not so much

April 30, 2014 - Terri Castelaz
Yesterday I spent the day at Dickinson County Hospital as my husband had to have surgery, not quite the vacation day I had in mind. The surgery on his forearm/wrist was the result of an accident he had last Thursday. It ended up being a little longer than I thought, since he had two plates along with eight pins put in. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. so I was figuring being home at around 4ish. That didn't happen we got home at 8.

I have to say all the nurses that I had contact with were very nice, which is much appreciated. His surgeon, Dr. Venditti at Northern Orthopedics was very informative through the whole process.

You always worry about going through any time of surgery, but the end result looks good. Just going to go through the healing process now. Meaning being home for the next several weeks. And I am sure going stir crazy because he won't be able to do much.
