| | Thank you to all veteransNovember 11, 2009 - Linda LobeckToday is Veterans Day and a time for reflection on the many men and women who have served our country in the armed forces as well as those currently serving to protect our freedom. I am thankful for my father’s service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, my father-in-law’s service during World War II, my two brothers-in-law who served during the Vietnam War, and my niece, Kristine’s husband’s who is currently in the military. Thankfully, all these family members came home from service. I can’t imagine the pain and loss that families feel when their loved one dies in service. It forever changes your life and my heart goes out to each and everyone that has suffered in this way. I am also thankful for the many people who work tirelessly on a daily basis to help out veterans. This includes the organizations and individuals that put together and collect items to send to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. We need continue to pray for peace and a time when there will be no need for wars. And I keep the military and their families in my daily prayers for their safety!
