Happy 1st Birthday Tessa!
November 12, 2009 - Terri Castelaz
My baby’s first birthday is today. I can’t believe Tessa is now 1. Seems like yesterday I was waddling around waiting for her to arrive with her father and grandfathers praying it was going to be before hunting season.
Now it’s a year later and wondering where the time went. Although many think she’s already a year old because of the fact she was walking before she was nine-months-old. She went from just learning to crawl, to pulling her self up on furniture, to just taking off. I honestly didn’t think it would happen that fast, because she was so scared of falling. I would try everything to coax her to let go, but she would not fall for it. That’s all it took was one time for her to take a few steps with out her realizing she wasn’t holding on to find out she could do it. And she hasn’t stopped since.
I have really enjoyed watching her grow this year, become more independent each day. From walking to eating and playing on her own. Although a part of me would like her to stay this little for a while since she is my last child.
We did already celebrate Tessa’s birthday last weekend, due to hunting season opens Sunday. I guess that’s the way it will be unless she doesn’t want her father, brother or grandfathers at any of her parties. I have to pass on a quote my father said to me this past weekend, “No babies should be planned during hunting season.” Of course he was kidding, but we still won’t be celebrating Tessa’s birthdays after hunting season begins.
The year past by in a blink of an eye. My little baby is turning into a toddler too fast. Let’s just hope the terrible twos go bye just as quick.
