| | It’s Christmas timeDecember 3, 2009 - Lisa ReedThe Christmas season is upon us. It’s that time of year for festive parties and family get-togethers. So far, I have five Christmas parties to go to during the month of December. The first one is the Dunbar Kids Christmas Party. My mom and I plan this together. Santa makes an appearance, the children tell him what they want for Christmas, they make a craft and enjoy hot dogs and cookies. I also have to make cookies for the party this year. The second Christmas party is for my work. The third party will be at my house on Christmas Eve. My parents will come for dinner and drinks. Christmas Day will be celebrated in Grafton with my husband’s family, and the day after Christmas my younger brother will have a family get-together at his house. It’s his first time hosting a holiday, so it should be interesting to see how he does. There is also a party at a friend’s place the day after Christmas, but we will not make it because we will be out of town at my brother’s. ‘Tis the season for the holidays.’ Stores are loudly playing Christmas music and offering deals on everything in the store. Salvation Army bell ringers are out and about seeking donations for the less fortunate. City streets and area businesses are decorated for the holiday season and radio stations have begun playing Christmas songs. I will soon be decorating my house, finishing up Christmas shopping and wrapping all the gifts. Then I will be able to enjoy the holiday with members of my immediate and extended families.
