| | Christmas shopping countdownDecember 7, 2009 - Terri CastelazCountin’ down until Christmas has begun. This past weekend I took a trip with my sister and son to Oshkosh and Appleton to do some Christmas shopping. Every year I try to prepare myself for how “crazy” the Fox River Mall in Appleton is going to be at this time of year, but every time I say I am not going to do that again. This year I really thought it would be much better than in the past because it was only the first weekend in December. (Since I usually don’t start until the second week of December.) I was wrong. By the end of the seven hours in the mall I was ready to call it quits. I can deal with the crowd, but what I can’t deal with is the rudeness of some people. Yes, after a long day of shopping, I also want to tell someone get out of my way or just push them aside, but I don’t. It’s just not in me. In one particular store I was waiting for a sales associate for help and this very rude lady actually pushed her way around me to get to this associate and demand her immediate attention. I also got very disappointed after going into each store with a specific list and coming out with nothing on the list because everything is already out. When will I learn to start shopping early. Though it is really hard to shop when you don’t have any ideas of what to get someone. I really through I was doing good, since I had three persons done the day after Thanksgiving, feeling I made a dent and also trying to go by a list. I was wrong. I think my New Year’s resolution is going to be getting my Christmas shopping completed by Dec. 1 next year. Along with losing weight of course! I wonder if Santa has these problems?
