Bears coach needs a permanent timeout
December 14, 2009 - Ron Deuter
Count me among those who think it’s time for the Chicago Bears to find a new head coach. The list of reasons is long and continues to grow each week. But the latest gaffe by Lovie Smith, the person paid some five million a year to be in command of every Bear on the field, on the sidelines and in the booth, is beyond comprehension. Somebody please explain to me how in the fourth quarter of a one-score game you end up burning two timeouts on one play when the clock wasn’t even running? If you didn’t watch Sunday’s Bears-Packers game and are not familiar with the sequence, here’s a recap.
