Every holiday it’s always the same dilemma with my family — what’s on the menu.
This is kind of a joke with my family. Before each gathering, I look for new recipes on the internet, cookbooks, and even asking friends. I then pick out the ones that appeal to me the most and put them aside to make for that day. But it never happens. We always end up having the same dishes or pretty much the same.
Maybe it is just a tradition that we have too have a certain meal on Easter, Christmas, etc.
This year I’m promising that I will be making a few changes. Yes, we will still be having the same old ham, potatoe cheese bake, but I will be adding in a few healthy dishes.
Since I have been dieting for a few weeks now and haven’t fallen off the wagon yet, I would like to keep it that way. It seems once I cheat it’s down hill. Everyone tells me its OK to eat certain things once in a while. We’ll it isn’t for me. This is the longest stretch I have made in a while and I plan to keep it that way. I’m not so sure how the family will feel about going healthy, but I’m doing it. I just won’t tell them until Sunday when the meal is on the table.
