Scraped Knees and Bloody Paws

April 13, 2010 - Theresa Proudfit

First thing this morning when I got out of bed, I stubbed my toe.  I should have crawled back in because it didn't get much better.  I didn't have to work until the afternoon but my niece and nephew slept over so I had to get them off to school.  I woke up Tori and told her I was taking Boo for a walk. We took or usual morning route but she didn't poop. This is a necessity for Boo in the morning.  I was running late so I figured I would take Boo for a ride to bring the kids to school and and walk her again when I got back. I grabbed Joaquin's back pack to get his jacket and realized someone had for got to pack it. So I doubled up on his long sleeve shirts and looked for the phone to call his mother. Oh yeah... the phone... I remember that it is currently sitting in a bowl of rice to dry out as I cross my fingers it starts working again. (Slight accident at The Pine Mountain pool last night).   So anyway we walk out to the car and I step in a hole, twist my ankle, hit my knee and fall on my face.  Ouch. I skinned my knee pretty good and scraped my hand a little.  Fighting back tears I get the kids in the car and head off to school.  After dropping Tori off at school I realize I have a half an hour before Joaquin needs to get there so my little buddy and I decide to help Boo take care of her business.  After a short walk she does, we clean it up and she jumps back in the car. O.K. now what the heck is all over my seat? Bloody paw prints. Boo cut her foot on something and its bleeding pretty good all over the car. Sigh. Deep breath. I have to get Joaquin to school. After dropping off Joaquin and  explaining to his teacher, Christie, why his incompetent Aunt has brought him to school with no jacket, I head home to tend to my dogs injured paw. This was no easy task. The description of this project could be a blog of it's own so let's just say she's all better. Now I need to clean up the car. After attempting to use my steam cleaner and realizing the attachment hose is not working I start cleaning the spots by hand. About eight large bloody paw prints to scrub. Now into the house to get the other spots she left inside during our earlier struggle. Finished. I look at the clock and realize I have 25 minutes to shower and get to work. Hopefully tomorrow will start out a little better.
