I’ve lost my parking spot behind The Daily News. It wasn’t really my parking spot, but I have been squatting there for years. It started years ago when I saw an opportunity. No one was parking under the dish and there was room for a car. Why waste a spot in such close proximity to the door. So I started parking there. No more driving around the public parking lot looking for an open spot. I was a VIP (very important peon). No one said anything — not to me anyway. When they hired a new advertising director, she liked to park closer to the dish, so I parked on the other side of her vehicle. Apparently now the other managers want their spots back. So I’m back on the side of the road, fighting everyone else for a parking spot. But in life, sometimes you lose the things you’re used to having. You just have to move on. It was good while it lasted.
