Confronting Sarah Palin

November 30, 2010 - Jim Anderson
The headline pretty much says it:

“Joe Scarborough tells GOP to man up and confront Sarah Palin.”

Writing in Politico, the MSNBC host describes Palin as “a reality show star who cannot be elected.”

And that’s before he takes the gloves off.

“What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a resume as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run?” he asks.

After blasting Palin for her recent comments seemingly disparaging Ronald Reagan and the Bush family, the former GOP congressman concludes: “It’s time that Republican leaders started standing up and speaking the truth to Palin.”

Hmmm.

A couple of things:

1. Palin isn’t running for president just yet.

2. "Our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of ... as Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska."

Republicans opposed to a Palin candidacy need not bash her, or even confront her.

They should simply urge her to do more interviews with Katie Couric.
