Big weekend

I’m so excited about this weekend, you think I was going to Hawaii or something. Not quite, not even close, I’m only traveling to Merrill, Wis. It’s not the “warm spring vacation trip everyone dreams of,” but it doesn’t matter because I’m going to be spending time with four of my best friends. Planning this trip felt like we were back in high school looking forward to our big weekend. Maybe some of the excitement is that I will be without the kids for a whole weekend. No, it’s definitely because I will be with the “girls.” I feel very grateful to have such wonderful friends in my life. A couple since kindergarten and the others since middle school. After all these years we still are close friends. The only disappointment is that one out of our group will not be able to make it. So this only means we will have to plan another weekend away so all of us will be able to be there. Maybe it will be someplace warm celebrating our 25th year class reunion which is already next year. I will keep you all informed if Merrill survives our visit.
