Gas prices higher in U.P.

May 3, 2011 - Lisa Reed
Once again, gas prices are higher in the U.P., especially Iron Mountain. The price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline on Tuesday in Iron Mountain ranged from $4.14 to $4.29. Compared to other areas, that amount is more than 30 cents per gallon. Why is it that motorists in Iron Mountain pay more than anywhere else? While in Green Bay on Monday, I paid $4.07 a gallon. Prices in Wisconsin are as follows: Milwaukee $4.29, Crivitz, $3.85 to $3.96, Green Bay, $3.99 to $4.09, Appleton, $3.85 to $3.96, Sheboygan, $3.85 to $3.94 and $3.91 in Shawano. Detroit and Lansing are also paying less than Iron Mountain at $3.99 to $4.05 per gallon. Those prices are according to Wisconsin and Michigan gas prices online. When will gas companies stop charging more for gas in Iron Mountain?
