Soccer help

May 28, 2011 - Burt Angeli
Marquette fields the best soccer program around. Sounds like they got some help in the U.P. tournament.

Kingsford Coach Todd Formolo wasn’t happy with the officiating in the finals. The Flivvers held a 1-0 lead before Marquette pulled out a 2-1 decision.

“We had several opportunities but there were several no calls made when the girls were in position to score,” Formolo said. “The team executed the game plan perfect throughout the contest.

“I feel the game became controlled by the reffing and not by the players. Non-discretionary rules are made to enforce for the safety of the players and the fairness of the game. These calls just have to be made. Its simple as that.”
