Not guilty verdict a surprise?

July 6, 2011 - Lisa Reed
For several weeks, everyone has been talking about the murder trial of Casey Anthony, a Florida mom accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter. A not guilty verdict on first-degree murder charges was reached by the jury on Tuesday. And many people are surprised she was only found guilty of four counts of lying to investigators. Obviously the state did not prove she murdered her daughter. Casey was found guilty of lying and may know what happened to her daughter, but the state could not prove she murdered her daughter. Being on a jury is not easy. But to find someone guilty, there are several factors that must be met and in this case the jury did not think they were not met. So Casey walks free. Let’s just hope she doesn’t have any more children in the future!
