No more movie remakes, please

October 14, 2011 - Lisa Reed
What is with the remaking of movies that became classics of their time? For example, the remaking of “Footloose.” This movie originally aired in 1984.

The remake comes out this weekend, and I will not be watching it.

I, personally, enjoyed the original Footloose with a young Kevin Bacon. There is no way I am even going to watch the new version with some young actor I have never heard of.

With that, I did watch the remake of The Karate Kid when it came out last year, and I was not impressed. Now I am hearing that Poltergeist is being remade. Really? And Dirty Dancing! Oh my God.

Film makers have to stop remaking movies from the 1980s or any other era and start coming up with their own ideas.
