It's getting too expensive to get fat
March 6, 2012 - Ron Deuter
Spin the wheel of stupid lawsuits and what do we come up with this week:
Someone has decided to sue a movie theater because it charges too much for snacks.
Here’s an idea. Don’t buy snacks at the theater. It’s called supply and demand. This is just a guess, but I’d be willing to bet theaters charge outragous prices because people pay them.
This isn’t like gasoline where your sort of need it no matter the price.
No one says you have to wolf down a pail of popcorn and guzzle a gallon of soda to watch a movie. Whoops, look out, I think you’ve got a smudge of junior mint on your face.
But hey, if you simply can’t sit for two hours without ingesting some form of high-caloric crud, maybe a better course of action would be to organize a boycott of snack-buying at theaters.
Start a national movement online. Stick it to the man!
Just might want to put down that box of goobers first.
