Losing wagers on MSU
March 23, 2012 - Burt Angeli
Michigan State-Louisville drew the most betting action of Thursday's four NCAA regional basketball semifinals, according to Matt Youmans of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
"That was the biggest-bet game of the four, by far," Cantor Gaming sports book director Mike Colbert said. "It was all Michigan State."
Unfortunately, Louisville stopped MSU 57-44. The Cardinals' defensive pressure and shot-blocking doomed the Spartans.
“You know what our press does a lot of times? It just wears people out,” said Pitino, who improved to 10-0 in his career in the Sweet 16, including 4-0 with the Cardinals. “We didn’t really want to trap them. We wanted to run and jump to get to the legs. And for us to have Draymond (Green) bring the ball up was great.”
Louisville closed as a 5-point underdog.
