Where did 25 years go?

May 15, 2012 - Terri Castelaz
I can hardly believe this year my class is celebrating its 25th reunion. It really can’t be that long ago we roamed the halls of Iron Mountain High School — can it?

My short term memory isn’t always the greatest, but I can remember in detail many high school “adventures” with my friends. Many probably unsuitable for public knowledge. Those were the days.

I hear teens all the time saying “I can’t wait until I’m outta here.” (Meaning school.) Fact is someday you will look back and wish you had more time as a carefree teen.

These 25 years has gone by so quickly. With four children, two that have graduated, one of which just finished college, a 12-year-old that is active in almost every sport and a very active three-year-old. It must be the youngest that is keeping me from feeling my old age. Although I felt very old when I went to sign her up for pre-kindergarten at a open house and all the other parents there that night were only a few years older than my oldest daughter. I will have to get over the embarrassment, because she will be with these kids for the next 13 years.

For those who haven’t heard the Iron Mountain High School class of 1987 is meeting at Sol Blu in Iron Mountain on July 6 at 7 p.m. Can’t wait to see everyone there.
