So the Emmys wasted a good part of your television viewing on Sunday. Thank goodness for Sunday night football. Have you ever noticed how much Hollywood loves itself? There are the Primetime Emmy Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards, the Academy Awards, MTV Awards, Grammy Awards, etc, etc. The list goes on forever. Of course, they have the red carpet show, the pre-awards show, the backstage show, and post-show party coverage. Does anybody really care? Why do they televise every awards show imaginable? Does it even matter? If you like to watch “World’s Wildest Police Videos,” for example, are you going to suddenly switch to “Desperate Housewives” because it won an Emmy? Or if you’re a fan of “House,” are you going to stop watching it because it didn’t win an award? The whole thing is utterly silly. All they want is to have their pictures taken with a two-bit trophy.
