Friday deadline for LA Classic
IRON MOUNTAIN — Special Olympics will be supported at this year’s Lake Antoine Classic on Saturday, Aug. 2. Econo Foods, Dickinson County Healthcare System, Verso Paper and WLUC TV6 are sponsoring the 31st annual event. Classic includes 15K and five-mile competitive runs, two-mile youth competitive run and three non-competitive events — two-mile fun run, Lake Antoine walk (5 miles) and a 15K Lake Fumee bike route. In addition to the traditional awards given for the 15K and five-competitive events, medals will given to the top three male and female youth participants in all seven of the age divisions in the two-mile youth run. All events start and finish at Lake Antoine County Park.Reduced fee early registration deadline is Friday, July 25, but participants can also register on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with events starting at 9 a.m. All participants are welcome to enjoy refreshments and fresh fruit after the event, compliments of Pepsi Cola of Iron Mountain, City Sa
